About Sérgio
Bridging two worlds - one conversation at a time.
Born in New England to Portuguese immigrant parents and educated partly in Figueira da Foz on Portugal's Silver Coast, he has spent his life moving between American and Portuguese cultures - fluent in both languages, at home in both places.
With nearly two decades of experience in education - teaching at the high school and university levels, developing European Portuguese curricula, and working one-on-one with adult learners - Sérgio has seen what gets in the way of real fluency. It's rarely vocabulary. It's almost always confidence, and the lack of a real space to practice.
Conversa Club is his answer to that.
He built it because language learning should feel human; not overwhelming, not lonely, and not limited to a textbook. As a dual US-Portuguese citizen who splits his time between the US and Portugal, he teaches European Portuguese the way it is actually lived: with curiosity, cultural depth, and a great deal of patience.
